Intention and Surrender

Intention

This is the third of the three cards I drew on Monday.

I am One who has colorful green eyes that glow.

I am the One who blows on the magical green stuff and it lifts from my hands.

I am the One whose beautiful hands are open to receive.

I am the one with feathers in my hair.

I am the One who doesn't try to hold on to the green stuff.

What do you want from me?

I want you to loosen your grip.
I want you to trust that once you have blown on the magical green stuff, it iwll scatter like wild flowers, seed and take root in the fertile groundwork you've lain and, while you won't know whether you will grow daffodils or tulips, it will be beautiful and just what you needed.

What do you have to give me?

I give you the assurance of a beautiful future if you let go and blow; breath.

How will I remember?

When you see a seed or flower or beautiful hands.

Peaceful Sleeper

Peaceful child

I like to draw three cards for the week. Then I have time to think about what they are saying to me as different occasions arise.

I also do this because I am realistic about the fact that I won't do a drawing every day.

This is one of the three cards I drew yesterday and the journal entry I made.

I am one who sleeps peacefully with my head on a fluffy pillow.

I am the one who has been playing the drum.

I am the one who rests in peace and comfort even though the forest is right behind me with all its mystery.

What do you want from me?

I want you to rest peacefully.
I want you to to trust that you will be well even when things look scary or mysterious.
I want you to play your drum and then rest.

What do you give me?

I give you the assurance that you will be well cared for no matter how little you know about what's "out there."

How will I remember?

When you see trees with their bare branches reaching up.
Every time you lie down to sleep.

My Emerging Self

I am the one who is looking up, squinting and laughing.

I am the one who is emerging from one place into a very different looking place.

I am the one who can't see where I am going yet but I keep pecking at the shell, getting a little bigger piece of the picture with each peck.

I am the one who who has gone from ice to sun and sand.

I am the one who looks toward the light with my eyes closed, trusting and laughing.

What do you want from me?
I want you to trust without knowing.
I want you to laugh and enjoy the Light.
I want you to keep pecking at the shell, knowing you have outgrown that safe place.

What do you have to give me?
I give you the senses to feel and acknowledge the Light, even when you can't see it.
I give you the tools for breaking out of your shell.
I give you joy in the face of new horizons.

How will I remember?
You will remember every time you see an egg or a child.
You will remember when you close your eyes and feel the sun on your face.

Quote:
It all began the day I found
That from my window
I could only see
A piece of sky.
I stepped outside and looked around,
I never dreamed it was so wide
Or even half as high. ~from Yentl

Beach Balls and Shadows

She refers to all the different beach balls we each have. I love that visual and equate her "beach balls" to the shadow selves in SoulCollage.

Great interview. I can't wait to get the book.

Ask Deepak: I’m losing all my friends

December 4, 2008

Question:

Most of my life I have been disassociated from people. It is effortless for me to unknowingly alienate friends, associates and family. Sometimes I feel like I am on a path of self-destruction although I would not consciously hurt myself, I don’t let myself grow either. I have the tools; knowledge, guidance and love, to heal but I don’t use them. As my children and I age, I find myself seeking friendships but strangely enough when I found a friend she lost her job and moved away. We are still in touch through email, but I really want a friend. My husband and I have achieved a moderately warm relationship after 22 years but we are both a little reserved. He has his own issues, although he’s a wonderful person, father and teacher. What do I have to let go of in order to let myself heal and have friends? A year ago I was diagnosed with ADHD which may explain my painful experience with lifelong associates. (Everyone criticizes me all the time, except my one cyber-friend of three years).

Answer:

The best way to overcome the power of unconscious habits is to make them fully conscious. That means you not only see what you are doing, and understand it, but more importantly you forgive yourself for it as well. This reintegrates that disconnected, unconscious part t of you back into the realm of conscious living.

So you see that you are emotionally disconnecting from those around you, but why do you do that? What is the payoff? Is it because that is safer than risking emotional disappointment? Is it because the channels of emotional satisfaction that initially pulled you into relationship have fundamentally changed for you and you no longer feel any juice in the old connections? Or perhaps you have just entered a phase in your life where you need to focus primarily on your internal processes and so you are naturally withdrawing your attention from others. Whatever it might be, find that narrative, or narratives and see how it might be serving your highest needs right now.

From there it is a short step to feeling okay about it, forgiving yourself for telling yourself that you are doing something wrong. Once you step into the rightness of what is actually happening, you free yourself up to take advantage of whatever next step of growth you need.

Love,

Deepak

SoulCollage and Law of Attraction

I think this article really spells out how SoulCollage complements working with the Law of Attraction.

Being happy is not about keeping our chins up and ignoring our unhappy feelings.

In fact, I would say that ignoring our real feelings and putting pressure on ourselves to be bubbly all the time is a recipe for emotional disaster.

Feelings can't be masked or ignored. They must be explored, felt and dealt with.

This is where SoulCollage comes in. Through SoulCollage, we can get in touch with all the different inner selves, dark and light, that make up who we are and why we react to things the way we do.

We can learn so much about ourselves.

SoulCollage is great because we don't have to know what we're looking for. Isn't that the hardest part sometimes? Because often we feel bad but we've masked it for so long we don't really know why we feel the way we do.

With SoulCollage, we can simply choose images that have some attraction for us, tear or cut them out and paste them down. Then we can stand back and say, "aha!"

The "aha" doesn't always come immediately. I have many cards in my deck that still haven't really spoken to me clearly. But I anticipate their gifts, as I know they will give them one day.

Enjoy the article.
